Best California Wines for Summer

Memorial Day is a day to remember those fallen heroes who gave their life in the line of duty. It is also the official kick off to summer. With it being a week behind us, it's now the time to pick up those delicious summer wines from wine country. With the wide variety of wines available, you have a lot of choices. Some wines that you may have avoided in the past could be the perfect summer wine for you now. Turning away from oaky, buttery flavors, Chardonnays have become crisper and cleaner. Sauvignon Blanc has also improved by being created fuller and richer with less bland and grassy flavors. Rosé is still a top choice for summer wines, but now is more fruity and full.

Paul Hodgins (from the Orange County Register) has put together a list of his favorite 25 California wines for summer. Here is his list: (for full information, click here).
